We live in a world where social media is growing rapidly, and the bar has been raised to look a certain way. Little girls are exposed to makeup younger and younger. Do I totally agree with it? Well, not exactly. What I do know is I LOVE to feel and look pretty. The meaning of pretty has a different definition to each person and that is okay. As a trainer who wakes up daily to train clients at 5 am and a mom of three little boys, I feel like a hot mess on most days! I surely don’t have time to fix myself up. For a special event or occasion on the other hand, I like to be “dolled” up. I have a much older sister who always did a great job helping me with hair and makeup for high-school dances and parties, etc. My only recollection of being “dolled” up professionally was glamour shots, LOL. So jumping forward to the days of friends getting married and my own wedding is when I truly learned about makeup artist. Let’s just say that aside from the expense of hiring one regularly, I was hooked. Whenever I have had a makeup artist apply my makeup, I have felt like my confidence has soared. While I do not like to hide behind a face of makeup daily, I do find a good makeup artist knows just what to do to make you look natural and accentuate certain features that make you look extra glamorous!
